Flat Stanley goes to Italy

This is the Italian flag.

The yellow part of this map is the country of Italy.  Some people say it is shaped like a boot.  Do you think it looks like a boot?

Flat Stanley liked visiting the Alps (mountains) in Italy.  They are in the same group of mountains that he saw in Switzerland and Austria as well.
Jonah's favorite thing in Lana were the tractor toys where we stayed.
This is Flat Stanley in Bologna, Italy.  It was a nice city to visit.  Do you see the arch behind Flat Stanley?

On to Austria

Flat stanley left Switzerland and arrived in Austria.  There are a lot of mountains in Austria, just like switzerland.  It is very beautiful.

This is an Austrian train.  Flat Stanley and Jonah love train rides and have been taking a lot of them.

This is Flat Stanley in Innsbruck, Austria where we spent the night.
Innsbruck is famous for it's golden roof in the square.  Jim thought this picture of the golden arches in front of the golden roof was funny.  Do you see the orange truck too?

Flat Stanley in Swizerland

Flat Stanley loved the view from our balcony in Lauterbrunnen. Can you see mountains?  Can you see snow on the mountains?  Do you see a waterfall?

This is the flag of Switzerland

Here is a video from switzerland.  Can you hear the cow bells?  Can you see the mountains?  Do you see the valley?

On Lake Geneva

Flat Stanley took a ride across Lake Geneva.  Can you see the big fountain behind Flat Stanley?

Flat Stanley is much more cooperative than Jonah when it comes to taking pictures.  But, we all enjoyed a ride across the lake.

To Geneva, Switzerland

It was hard to sleep Tuesday night for both Jonah and Stanley.  Jonah's room was empty (aside from sheets and a pillow and Stanley was in a backpack awaiting the early morning awakening to hit the road to get to the airport in Edinburgh.

On the way to the airport we saw sheep and cows in the fields.  We even had to stop the car to let a deer cross the road in front of us.

Watching the planes come in and out of the airport was tons of fun and soon we boarded a plane to Geneva, Switzerland.

It was a fast plane flight (just under two hours) and it flew by.  Jonah loved his new workbook of numbers 1-30 and did that for an hour and then fell asleep.  Flat Stanley and Jonah also liked naming the clouds - cumulous, stratus and cirrus.

When we arrived in Geneva we met some friends and headed to the beach on lake Geneva.
